Rocket League Season 8 is now live.
With an all-new rocket pass – this one headlined by the Honda Civic Type R, the first “IRL car in Rocket Pass” – and the new grassy Sovereign Heights Arena, youll be able to “take it outside” given its “blanketed in artisanal turf crafted by the neighborhood co-op”.
“Inspired by the famously hot hatchback, this in-game Honda Civic Type R is the first-ever IRL car to come included in Rocket Pass Premium! The JDM masterpiece hits the streets with a beloved spec: Octane Hitbox,” developer Psyonix explains.
“Rocket League is taking it outside! Explore the grassy Sovereign Heights Arena, rise through the tiers of a new Rocket Pass, and unlock two JDM classics – the Honda Civic Type R and Honda Civic Type R-LE!”
Also coming up is a new Hoops Arena – the developer says it “promises to revitalise the local streetball scene” – while rumours of the “annual Haunted Hallows event echo through the alleyways”; expect more on those soon.
“Im excited to see what the future brings for Psyonixs incredible hit,” we said in our State of the Game report on Rocket League.
“Seven years on, Rocket League isnt in the limelight anymore, but it still maintains everything that made it special back in 2015. Plus, thanks to the move to the free-to-play model, there are no longer any entry barriers and Rocket League maintains its hefty user base, meaning theres arguably never been a better time to jump in.
“Id recommend giving it a go. Now, if youll excuse me, I have a Hoops game to inevitably lose.”
